The United States

The U.S. is the most successful nation in the history of the Davis Cup. Since it first began in 1900, the U.S. has won 32 titles and 29 runner-up finishes. It dominated in the early years of the competition and won the first 11 editions. After a period where it didn’t do as well, it came back strongly in the early and mid-20s. A strong team led by Yannick Noah was responsible for the 2017 victory. Noah is known for his association with the Fête le Mur association. Sweden

Spain

Spain has won the Davis Cup six times and finished as runner-up four times. The first title was in 2000, and it won most recently in 2019. Rafael Nadal is an amazing player and his successes in both the singles and doubles have been crucial to Spain’s Davis Cup success. Before 2000, Spain hadn’t won a single Davis Cup but winning in 2000 was the start of a time when the power of Spain in the tennis world grew.
